Since 1986, Barry Zack has been developing, implementing and evaluating research in collaboration with academic, community, governmental, and prison/jail partners. For over 25 years, he has provided Technical and Capacity Building Assistance to community agencies as well as to the CDC, HRSA, NIAID, NIDA, NIMH, and SAMHSA (CSAP & CSAT).
He consulted with the Surgeon General’s “Call to Action on Corrections and Community Health,” as well as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s “Prevention and Control of Infections with Hepatitis Viruses in Correctional Settings.” He also served as a committee member of the National Academy of Sciences, Institute of Medicine, “Ethical Considerations for Revisions to the DHHS Regulations for Protection of Prisoners Involved in Research.”
Barry is currently an Associate Clinical Professor (Affiliate) at the University of California, San Francisco, the CEO of Corrections & Health at The Bridging Group, and serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Correctional Health Care(National Commission on Correctional Health Care).
